Tamaskan Time-line

1999:    Main founder Lynn of Blustag Kennels has the idea for a breed of dog that looks like a wolf, she starts her search for wolf like dogs.


2000:     Lynn and her daughter Jennie (Blufawn) purchases their first breeding dogs from Utonagan and Northern Inuit stock


2002:     First generation F1 litter born.

              Blustag and Blufawn kennels initiate a hip scoring scheme for all breeding stock.


2005:     The first Tamaskan are exported to USA


2006:     The Tamaskan Dog Register (TDR) was formed

              Blustag and Blufawn kennels move to Finland to continue their search of wolfy looking dogs for new bloodlines.

              Blustag Tamaskan were exported to The Netherland, Germany, Sweden and France.

              The starting of The Tamaskan Dog Society of Great Britain

              The starting of the National Tamaskan Club of America

              After purchasing and exporting dogs from Finland and improving the gene pool the doors close on anymore dogs allowed into the breed.


2007:     The first litter of Tamaskan in USA are born at J&J kennels

              TDR initiates parental DNA testing for all breeding stock


2008:     Tamaskan puppy exported to Greece

              NTCA initiates CERF eye testing for all USA breeding stock
